Harmony Day 2016
Harmony Day was celebrated at our school on Thursday 17th March. It started off with a fantastic assembly by Mrs Rodricks and the Ýear 4’s in room 21. This was followed by all the classes meeting on the grassed area near the undercover area to show their Harmony Day paper dolls which represented the different traditional clothing of their cultures. After recess, the year 3 students in Rooms 25 and 26 listened to some guest speakers who talked about their experiences as a migrant, coming to Australia. Mrs Sinfeld (Milla’s mum) and Mr Jackson (Nathan’s grandad) spoke about their lives in Malaysia and Burma before they migrated to Australia. They explained about the differences they experienced in their new country and how they were treated. We wish to thank them for giving up their time to participate in Harmony Day with us.
