Where Learning Kindles Emotion, Perception & Appreciation

Forest Crescent Primary School has a vibrant Visual Art program which offers students a range of opportunities to enhance their creativity and artistic skills which encourages creative and imaginative ways of  thinking.

Specialist Art teacher  Mrs Jo Portman engages all students for approximately  one hour  of specialist art per week where students experience a range of visual art activities including painting, ceramics, collage and drawing just to name a few.

Forest Crescent Primary School offers a Talented and Gifted Visual Art course (TAGS)  for selected student from Years Four, Five and Six. These student enjoy an extra hour of art a week where they are extended and further artistically stimulated with opportunities that they may not receive in their classroom art lesson.

At times special art projects, are undertaken to decorate and enhance the school grounds. These projects allow more intensive tuition and extension as well as instilling ownership and pride in our school. The students also enjoy participating in various community based projects, competitions and exhibitions.

Visual Arts has the capacity to engage and inspire students, encouraging them to reach their creative and intellectual potential by stimulating imaginative and innovative thinking.
