DESCRIPTION:The following arrangements are in place for in-term swimming lessons for Year 4-6 students. \nWeek 7 & 8 (MONDAY 31st August to FRIDAY 11th September) at Gosnells Leisure World- new scheduling. \nIn-term swimming lessons for Year 4-6 students are integral to the Department of Education’s Physical Education Program. The Department of Education covers the costs of swimming tuition\, and parents only pay for pool entry and bus transport. \nParents should also be aware that many high schools offer electives that require a level of swimming proficiency to participate. In primary school\, in-term swimming classes allow students to advance their swimming skills. \nDuring this time\, when we are very conscious of the cost of living expenses for families\, the school has rescheduled the Years 4 to 6 swimming program. Instead of students receiving two weeks of swimming\, one 40-minute session per day\, with 10 sessions in total\, we will have one group of students (two classes) receiving one week of swimming\, one 80-minute session per day\, with 5 sessions in total. A break can be provided for the students at the end of the first 40 minutes if required. So for Week 7\, two groups (including four classrooms in total) will attend one week of swimming\, and in Week 8\, two groups (including four classrooms in total) will attend one week of swimming. \nMore Information Years 4 to 6 Swimming \n

SUMMARY:Year 2 Fremantle Prison Excursion
DESCRIPTION:To coincide with our Term 3 HASS focus\, Importance of the Past\, the Year 2s will be visiting the Fremantle Prison on Monday\, August 31st. Children will participate in a one-hour Historical Prison tour where they will explore the building and cells of Fremantle Prison and discover what life was like for a convict transported to the Swan River Colony. The tour guides provide an entertaining experience for the children as they discover how time was passed in the yards\, while marvelling at original prisoner works of art. \nWe will be leaving school at 9:00am and returning between 12.30-12.45pm. All students will need to wear their school uniform and closed-in shoes. Children will have their recess at Fremantle Prison before the tour commences at 10:30am. \nThey will need to take a hat\, water bottle and labelled recess in a zip-lock bag with them. Their school bags will stay at school\, and they will have their lunch when they return to school.
