DESCRIPTION:Forest Crescent Primary is competing in the Interschool Cross Country. \nDate: Friday\, 14th August 2026 \nSchools: Campbell\, Forest Crescent\, Piara Waters\, Harrisdale\, Aspiri\, Southern Grove \nVenue: Homestead Park\, Corner of Connemara Drive and Glenbrook Rd\, Thornlie. \nEvent Times: These are approximate event times\, and presentations will be at 12:05pm- Times to be confirmed \n\nYr 3 Girls 9:45am\nYr 3 Boys 10:00am\nYr 4 Girls 10:15am\nYr 4 Boys 10:30am\nYr 5 Girls 10:45am\nYr 5 Boys 11:00am\nYr 6 Girls 11:15am\nYr 6 Boys 11:30am\n\nThe events are scheduled to commence at 9:45 a.m.\, with the Year 3 girls\, followed by each subsequent race 15 minutes later\, concluding with the Year 6 boys at 11:30 a.m. Presentations begin at approximately 12:05pm. The Year 3 children run 900m\, the Year 4/5 children run 1400m\, and the Year 6 children run 1600m. \nThe children will be travelling by bus\, leaving from school at approximately 9:00am. \nAs the children are representing the school\, all children are required to wear the school interschool shirt\, which will be issued at the school\, and wear running shoes. Students will need to return the shirt on the day. No spikes allowed or running barefoot. SUMMARY:Year 3 Scitech Excursion
DESCRIPTION:The Year 3 students in rooms 22\, 23\, and 24 will have the opportunity to visit Scitech during Week 5 of this term.  During the excursion\, students will have the opportunity to watch Science come alive through interactive demonstrations\, view a show in the Planetarium\, and have facilitated access to the feature exhibition. They will also have the chance to explore science concepts independently during free time in the general exhibition section. \nThe students will visit Scitech on Monday\, 17th August 2026. The bus will leave school by 8:45am\, and students will return at approximately 3:00pm. \nThe students will need to come dressed in a school uniform (no faction shirts) and closed shoes. They will also need to bring a bottle of water\, as well as recess and lunch.

SUMMARY:Massed Choir Festival Rehearsal
DESCRIPTION:Our first rehearsal for the Massed Choir Festival is Thursday 20th August 2026 at Churchlands Senior High School. This rehearsal is very important as it will be the first time all the choirs assemble together and hear both parts of each song. The cluster rehearsal also focuses on the actions for each song\, and students learn how to follow the conductor’s instructions during the performance. \nWe will leave school at precisely 8.30am. Students will take their recess\, and we will eat at Churchlands SHS after the rehearsal at 11.45am before returning to school by 1pm. Please pack all recess items in disposable bags and all items\, including water bottles\, must be clearly labelled with your child’s name. Students wear normal school uniform for this rehearsal.

The Department of Education covers the costs of swimming tuition\, and parents only pay for pool entry and bus transport. \nParents should also be aware that many high schools offer electives that require a level of swimming proficiency to participate. In primary school\, in-term swimming classes allow students to advance their swimming skills. \nDuring this time\, when we are very conscious of the cost of living expenses for families\, the school has rescheduled the Years 4 to 6 swimming program. Instead of students receiving two weeks of swimming\, one 40-minute session per day\, with 10 sessions in total\, we will have one group of students (two classes) receiving one week of swimming\, one 80-minute session per day\, with 5 sessions in total. A break can be provided for the students at the end of the first 40 minutes if required. The Department of Education covers the costs of swimming tuition\, and parents only pay for pool entry and bus transport. \nParents should also be aware that many high schools offer electives that require a level of swimming proficiency to participate. In primary school\, in-term swimming classes allow students to advance their swimming skills. \nDuring this time\, when we are very conscious of the cost of living expenses for families\, the school has rescheduled the Years 4 to 6 swimming program. DESCRIPTION:The following arrangements are in place for in-term swimming lessons for Year 4-6 students. \nTerm 1\, Weeks 3 – 4 (15/02/2027 – 26/02/2027) at Gosnells Leisure World- 10 sessions (We will look at condensing the swim lesson\, with details to be confirmed) \nIn-term swimming lessons for Year 4-6 students are integral to the Department of Education’s Physical Education Program. The Department of Education covers the costs of swimming tuition\, and parents only pay for pool entry and bus transport. \nParents should also be aware that many high schools offer electives that require a certain level of swimming proficiency. In primary school\, in-term swimming classes allow students to advance their swimming skills.
