DESCRIPTION:UPDATED STARTING AT 9:45am (Changed times from original post) \nForest Crescent Primary is competing in the Interschool Cross Country. \nDate: Monday\, 11th August 2025 \nSchools: Campbell\, Forest Crescent\, Piara Waters\, Harrisdale\, Aspiri\, Southern Grove \nVenue: Homestead Park\, Corner of Connemara Drive and Glenbrook Rd\, Thornlie. \nEvent Times: These are approximate event times\, and presentations will be at 12:05pm \n\nYr 3 Girls 9:45am\nYr 3 Boys 10:00am\nYr 4 Girls 10:15am\nYr 4 Boys 10:30am\nYr 5 Girls 10:45am\nYr 5 Boys 11:00am\nYr 6 Girls 11:15am\nYr 6 Boys 11:30am\n\nThe events are scheduled to commence at 9:45a.m.\, beginning with the Year 3 girls and each subsequent race starting 15 minutes later\, concluding with the Year 6 boys at 11:30 a.m. Presentations begin at approximately 12:05pm. The Year 3 children run 900m\, the Year 4/5 children run 1400m\, and the Year 6 children run 1600m. \nThe children will be travelling by bus\, leaving from school at approximately 9:00am. The cost is $7.00. \nAs the children are representing the school\, all children are required to wear the school interschool shirt\, which will be issued at the school\, and wear running shoes. Students will need to return the shirt on the day. No spikes allowed or running barefoot. SUMMARY:National Assessment Program – Yr 6 ICT Literacy
DESCRIPTION:What is the National Assessment Program–ICT Literacy assessment? \nThe National Assessment Program is an ongoing program of assessments designed to measure progress towards the goals outlined in the Mparntwe Declaration\, 2019.\nThe NAP–ICT Literacy assessment measures and reports on the ability of students to use ICT appropriately and safely to access\, manage and evaluate information; develop new understandings; apply computational\, design and systems thinking to create solutions; communicate and collaborate with others; and engage productively with emerging and future technologies. \nHow will the assessment be conducted?\nThe NAP-ICTL main study assessment is a computer-based test that will be delivered using an online delivery platform. Students will\, therefore\, undertake the test using school computers\, which are connected to the internet.\nAt your school\, a sample of 20 students from Year 6 will undertake the assessment. These students will be randomly selected by ACER. These students will participate in an online assessment session. SUMMARY:Interschool Summer Cup 2025
DESCRIPTION:DETAILS TO BE CONFIRMED. Students will be selected to represent the school at the Vale Sports Association Summer Cup Carnival. It will be held on Tuesday 8th April\, 2025. \nThe venues are: \n\nBasketball – Willetton Basketball Centre (Burrendah Blvd Willetton)\nVolleyball – Burrendah Park\, Pinetree Gully Road\, Willetton\nCricket – Burrendah Park\, Pinetree Gully Rd\, Willetton\nSofcrosse – Burrendah Park\, Pinetree Gully Rd\, Willetton\nFrisbee – Burrendah Park\, Pinetree Gully Rd\, Willetton\n\nThere will be three buses providing transport for the carnival. \n\nThe volleyball team will leave at 8:20am.\nThe two buses for basketball\, frisbee\, cricket and sof-crosse will be leaving Forest Crescent at approximately 8:20am\, and all will return before the end of the school day.\n\nYour child must wear the school uniform shorts/ skorts/skirts (no black shorts)\, bring a drink\, a hat\, sunscreen\, suitable footwear\, and lunch and morning recess. Students will be provided with an interschool shirt or singlet (Basketball). It is essential your child is at school by 8:00am to get their shirt signed out. They must also be returned at the end of the day\, as they are not to go home with students.  Each family signing out shirts is responsible for their safe return or is required to cover the replacement costs of $40. Students are not permitted to use coloured zinc. \nAll venues plan to start by 9:20 am. There is a code of conduct for students and parents. SUMMARY:Year 6 Hamburger Day
DESCRIPTION:In Year 6\, as a part of our Health program\, we have been studying nutrition and the impact that poor eating choices have on our body\, particularly junk food. One of the tasks in this unit is for students to compare a junk food item to a healthier and more nutritious version. \nYear 6 teachers will compare a McDonald’s cheeseburger to a homemade hamburger. We will make the hamburgers with them at school for lunch on Wednesday\, April 2nd. An informational letter will be forthcoming.
