SUMMARY:Open Night
DESCRIPTION:Our annual Open Night will be held on Tuesday\, 29 August (Week 7). Our art program\, music\, drama and visual arts will be presenting their work in the undercover area. \nThe band and choir will commence from 5pm to 5.30pm. Classes will be open from 5.30pm-6.50pm. \nThere will be a drama performance from 7pm-7.30pm in the undercover area. \nThe Open Night is an opportunity for families to come and have a look at the wonderful work of students and see our great facilities. Teachers will be available to say hello and introduce themselves if parents/caregivers haven’t met before. The Open Night is a time to celebrate all of the outstanding teaching and learning opportunities implemented across the school\, it is not a time for parent/teacher interviews. \nShould you wish to have a more in-depth conversation with your child’s classroom teacher\, an appointment can be made for a later date. I look forward to seeing many families taking the opportunity to come in and look at our wonderful work. \nThe P&C has a Subway Meal Deal that you can order through the Flexischools app. Orders can be picked up on the night from the Art Room between 5.30pm and 6.10pm. Orders close at 9am on Friday\, 25 August.

DESCRIPTION:PP-Yr6 Sports Faction Athletics Carnival is scheduled for this day. \nAttached is a PP – Year 6 Athletics Carnival timetable on Friday\, 13th October. \nLunch for the whole school will be at 12.30pm. \nTHE CANTEEN WILL BE CLOSED FOR THE SPORTS CARNIVAL-THERE WILL BE NO OVER-THE-COUNTER ORDERING \nThe following items are available for lunchtime; \n\nSausage Rolls\, Nacho Dippers\, Picky Plates (Order through Flexischools-food ordering open by Wednesday 11th October)\nDrinks\, Icecreams\, Bake Sale (Purchased separately on the day on the oval)\n\nOn the oval\, near the Year 3 block\, the P & C will sell home-cooked baked goods\, ice cream\, and drinks. SUMMARY:2023 Concert Night
DESCRIPTION:Students attend classrooms at 5:45pm\, where they get changed and organised. Teachers are bringing classrooms out to the stage area to be seated for the official ceremony to start no later than 6:15pm. \nEach year level will present their item. \nBook awards from classroom teachers will be presented at a separate whole school assembly on Friday\, 8th December\, in the undercover area from 1:50-3:00pm \nThis is a non-smoking and non-alcohol event\, so we would appreciate it if you do not smoke or consume alcohol on school grounds out of courtesy to other people. \nAt the end of the evening’s program\, students will return to their classrooms with their teacher. Parents will then be able to collect their children from the classrooms. At the conclusion of tonight’s events\, we would appreciate any assistance with the packing up. \n  \nMore details to follow.

SUMMARY:Harmony Day Lunch and Assembly 2024
DESCRIPTION:Each year we celebrate Harmony Day at Forest Crescent. I would like to thank Mrs Rodricks for coordinating our Harmony Day activities. With approximately 200 students from a language background other than English 35% it is an important week of celebration and recognition of our cultural diversity. This year’s theme “Everyone Belongs” is a great theme for Forest Crescent where\, as an inclusive school “Everyone Belongs”. \nHarmony Day is on Thursday\, 21st March 2024. Australia is proud to be culturally diverse and celebrates Harmony Day every year\, a day where people of all cultures come together and spread the message that ‘everyone belongs’. This year is the 24th time Harmony Day will be celebrated across Australia. Harmony Day is a day when we can wear orange or our cultural dress that says ‘together we will achieve great things’ and a day when we all show more than just respect for each other. It is a day for cultural recognition for all people who call Australia their home. \nSince the assembly will be in the afternoon\, parents are invited to enjoy lunch with their child/children and then spend time with them at lunch time till the assembly. Parents are requested to sign in at their child’s classroom if coming in for lunch. A special Harmony Day menu has been planned by the canteen and both students and parents can pre order their multicultural lunch offering. At 2:00pm\, we will assemble in the Undercover Area for the special assembly and whole school song. Thank you also to Ms Auld and Ms Britten who have been teaching the students the whole school harmony day song.
