Following consultation and planning\, Forest Crescent Primary School intends to utilise this flexibility to provide a dedicated day for parent meetings on Friday\, 31 July. \nPlease note that Friday\, 31 July\, will not operate as a regular school day. DESCRIPTION:Forest Crescent Primary is competing in the Interschool Cross Country. \nDate: Friday\, 14th August 2026 \nSchools: Campbell\, Forest Crescent\, Piara Waters\, Harrisdale\, Aspiri\, Southern Grove \nVenue: Homestead Park\, Corner of Connemara Drive and Glenbrook Rd\, Thornlie. \nEvent Times: These are approximate event times\, and presentations will be at 12:05pm- Times to be confirmed \n\nYr 3 Girls 9:45am\nYr 3 Boys 10:00am\nYr 4 Girls 10:15am\nYr 4 Boys 10:30am\nYr 5 Girls 10:45am\nYr 5 Boys 11:00am\nYr 6 Girls 11:15am\nYr 6 Boys 11:30am\n\nThe events are scheduled to commence at 9:45 a.m.\, with the Year 3 girls\, followed by each subsequent race 15 minutes later\, concluding with the Year 6 boys at 11:30 a.m. Presentations begin at approximately 12:05pm. The Year 3 children run 900m\, the Year 4/5 children run 1400m\, and the Year 6 children run 1600m. \nThe children will be travelling by bus\, leaving from school at approximately 9:00am. \nAs the children are representing the school\, all children are required to wear the school interschool shirt\, which will be issued at the school\, and wear running shoes. Students will need to return the shirt on the day. No spikes allowed or running barefoot. DESCRIPTION:The Year 3 students in rooms 22\, 23\, and 24 will have the opportunity to visit Scitech during Week 5 of this term.  During the excursion\, students will have the opportunity to watch Science come alive through interactive demonstrations\, view a show in the Planetarium\, and have facilitated access to the feature exhibition. They will also have the chance to explore science concepts independently during free time in the general exhibition section. \nThe students will visit Scitech on Monday\, 17th August 2026. The bus will leave school by 8:45am\, and students will return at approximately 3:00pm. \nThe students will need to come dressed in a school uniform (no faction shirts) and closed shoes. They will also need to bring a bottle of water\, as well as recess and lunch.

SUMMARY:Massed Choir Festival Rehearsal
DESCRIPTION:Our first rehearsal for the Massed Choir Festival is Thursday 20th August 2026 at Churchlands Senior High School. This rehearsal is very important as it will be the first time all the choirs assemble together and hear both parts of each song. The cluster rehearsal also focuses on the actions for each song\, and students learn how to follow the conductor’s instructions during the performance. \nWe will leave school at precisely 8.30am. Students will take their recess\, and we will eat at Churchlands SHS after the rehearsal at 11.45am before returning to school by 1pm. Please pack all recess items in disposable bags and all items\, including water bottles\, must be clearly labelled with your child’s name. Students wear normal school uniform for this rehearsal.

SUMMARY:2026 In-Term Swimming Yrs 4 to Yr 6
DESCRIPTION:The following arrangements are in place for in-term swimming lessons for Year 4-6 students. \nWeek 7 & 8 (MONDAY 31st August to FRIDAY 11th September) at Gosnells Leisure World- new scheduling. \nIn-term swimming lessons for Year 4-6 students are integral to the Department of Education’s Physical Education Program. The Department of Education covers the costs of swimming tuition\, and parents only pay for pool entry and bus transport. \nParents should also be aware that many high schools offer electives that require a level of swimming proficiency to participate. In primary school\, in-term swimming classes allow students to advance their swimming skills. \nDuring this time\, when we are very conscious of the cost of living expenses for families\, the school has rescheduled the Years 4 to 6 swimming program. Instead of students receiving two weeks of swimming\, one 40-minute session per day\, with 10 sessions in total\, we will have one group of students (two classes) receiving one week of swimming\, one 80-minute session per day\, with 5 sessions in total. A break can be provided for the students at the end of the first 40 minutes if required. So for Week 7\, two groups (including four classrooms in total) will attend one week of swimming\, and in Week 8\, two groups (including four classrooms in total) will attend one week of swimming. \nMore Information Years 4 to 6 Swimming \n

SUMMARY:Year 2 Fremantle Prison Excursion
DESCRIPTION:To coincide with our Term 3 HASS focus\, Importance of the Past\, the Year 2s will be visiting the Fremantle Prison on Monday\, August 31st. Children will participate in a one-hour Historical Prison tour where they will explore the building and cells of Fremantle Prison and discover what life was like for a convict transported to the Swan River Colony. The tour guides provide an entertaining experience for the children as they discover how time was passed in the yards\, while marvelling at original prisoner works of art. \nWe will be leaving school at 9:00am and returning between 12.30-12.45pm. All students will need to wear their school uniform and closed-in shoes. Children will have their recess at Fremantle Prison before the tour commences at 10:30am. \nThey will need to take a hat\, water bottle and labelled recess in a zip-lock bag with them. Their school bags will stay at school\, and they will have their lunch when they return to school.
