DESCRIPTION:Our annual Open Night will be held on Tuesday\, 29 August (Week 7). Our art program\, music\, drama and visual arts will be presenting their work in the undercover area. \nThe band and choir will commence from 5pm to 5.30pm. Classes will be open from 5.30pm-6.50pm. \nThere will be a drama performance from 7pm-7.30pm in the undercover area. \nThe Open Night is an opportunity for families to come and have a look at the wonderful work of students and see our great facilities. Teachers will be available to say hello and introduce themselves if parents/caregivers haven’t met before. The Open Night is a time to celebrate all of the outstanding teaching and learning opportunities implemented across the school\, it is not a time for parent/teacher interviews. \nShould you wish to have a more in-depth conversation with your child’s classroom teacher\, an appointment can be made for a later date. I look forward to seeing many families taking the opportunity to come in and look at our wonderful work. \nThe P&C has a Subway Meal Deal that you can order through the Flexischools app. Orders can be picked up on the night from the Art Room between 5.30pm and 6.10pm. DESCRIPTION:School staff participate in six professional development days for up-skilling on school priorities\, data review and forward planning each year. Students do not attend these days. Two of these days are before the school year starts for students\, and one day is after the school year ends for students. A Department term dates calendar can not be provided as each public school develops its own calendar. \n\nThere are six school development days that students do not attend:\n\nTwo of these days are before the school year starts for students\, and one day is after the school year ends for students.\nEach school schedules another three days throughout the year in consultation with its school council/board and school community.\nPlease view Forest Crescent Primary Website Calendar or contact your school directly for more information about its specific dates\, including school development days.\nStudents start the school year on Wednesday\, 1st February and end the school year on Friday\, 15th December 2023.

SUMMARY:Year 1 Kalamunda History Village
DESCRIPTION:The Year 1 students in Rooms 6\, 7\, 8 & 9 will have the opportunity to go on an excursion to the Kalamunda History Village in week 3 this term to gain an understanding of the daily life lived by families in the olden days of WA history. \nThe students will visit the Kalamunda History Village\, by bus\, on Weeks 9\, 12th & 13th September. \nThe students will need to come dressed in school uniform (no faction shirts) and closed shoes. They will also need to bring their school hat\, a bottle of water\, recess and lunch and be prepared for wet weather. \n\nRooms 7 & 8 attending 12th September (TBC)\nRooms 6 & 9 attending 13th September (TBC)
