Order forms can be obtained from the office or downloaded from the school website. Completed orders may be paid in the office and distributed to classrooms during each fortnight. Parents can also order online through Flexischool\, though the order needs to be placed by 5pm Wednesday for delivery on Thursday. There is no need for you to come in and collect online orders. \nSECONDHAND UNIFORMS\nVarious items and sizes are available for $2—$5 each. All proceeds go to the P & C. SUMMARY:Harmony Day Lunch and Assembly 2024
DESCRIPTION:Each year we celebrate Harmony Day at Forest Crescent. I would like to thank Mrs Rodricks for coordinating our Harmony Day activities. With approximately 200 students from a language background other than English 35% it is an important week of celebration and recognition of our cultural diversity. This year’s theme “Everyone Belongs” is a great theme for Forest Crescent where\, as an inclusive school “Everyone Belongs”. \nHarmony Day is on Thursday\, 21st March 2024. Australia is proud to be culturally diverse and celebrates Harmony Day every year\, a day where people of all cultures come together and spread the message that ‘everyone belongs’. This year is the 24th time Harmony Day will be celebrated across Australia. Harmony Day is a day when we can wear orange or our cultural dress that says ‘together we will achieve great things’ and a day when we all show more than just respect for each other. It is a day for cultural recognition for all people who call Australia their home. \nSince the assembly will be in the afternoon\, parents are invited to enjoy lunch with their child/children and then spend time with them at lunch time till the assembly. Parents are requested to sign in at their child’s classroom if coming in for lunch. A special Harmony Day menu has been planned by the canteen and both students and parents can pre order their multicultural lunch offering. At 2:00pm\, we will assemble in the Undercover Area for the special assembly and whole school song. Thank you also to Ms Auld and Ms Britten who have been teaching the students the whole school harmony day song.

DESCRIPTION:The National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) is an annual assessment for students in Years 3 and 5. \nNAPLAN tests the sorts of skills that are essential for every child to progress through school and life\, such as reading\, writing\, spelling and numeracy. The assessments are undertaken nationwide. This year our NAPLAN will be online\, except for the Year 3’s who will complete their writing assessment with pencil and paper. \nNAPLAN is made up of tests in four areas (or ‘domains’): \n\nReading\nWriting\nLanguage Conventions (spelling\, grammar and punctuation)\nNumeracy.\n\nThe school’s NAPLAN schedule will be published closer to the event.

DESCRIPTION:Students will be representing the school at the Vale Sports Association Summer Carnival. \nYour child will be representing the school at the Vale Sports Association Summer Cup Carnival. It will be held on Tuesday 26th March\, 2024. \nThe venues are: \nBasketball – Willetton Basketball Centre (Burrendah Blvd Willetton) \nVolleyball WA – Canning Vale Volleyball Centre (Catalano Circuit\, Canning Vale) \nCricket – Burrendah Park\, Pinetree Gully Rd\, Willetton \nSofcrosse – Burrendah Park\, Pinetree Gully Rd\, Willetton \nFrisbee – Burrendah Park\, Pinetree Gully Rd\, Willetton \nThere will be three buses providing transport for the carnival. \n\nThe volleyball team will leave at 8:20am.\nThe two buses for basketball\, frisbee\, cricket and sof-crosse will be leaving Forest Crescent at approximately 8:20am\, and all will return before the end of the school day.\n\nYour child needs to wear the school uniform shorts/ skorts/skirts (no black shorts)\, bring a drink\, a hat\, sunscreen\, and suitable footwear\, as well as their lunch and morning recess. Students will be provided with an interschool shirt or singlet (Basketball). It is important your child is at school by 8:00am to get their shirt signed out. They will also need to be returned at the end of the day\, as they are not to go home with students.  Each family signing out shirts is responsible for their safe return or is required to cover the replacement costs of $40. Students are not permitted to use coloured zinc. \nAll venues plan to start by 9:20 am. There is a code of conduct for students and parents. DESCRIPTION:Uniform Shop provides a complete range of new and second-hand clothing. The Uniform Shop is open from 8:15 am-9:15 am. \nBlock 5 (see school map -click on INFORMATION tab) \nPlease remember the uniform shop is voluntarily run by parents (from the P&C). Order forms can be obtained from the office or downloaded from the school website. Completed orders may be paid in the office and distributed to classrooms during each fortnight. Parents can also order online through Flexischool\, though the order needs to be placed by 5pm Wednesday for delivery on Thursday. Click on the link for more information about Flexischools online ordering. There is no need for you to come in and collect online orders. \nSECONDHAND UNIFORMS\nVarious items and sizes are available for $2—$5 each. All proceeds go to the P & C. Visit the Uniform Shop when it is open to view items or drop off any uniform donations at the front office.
