VENUES TO BE CONFIRMED. \nFootball\, Soccer and Flagbelt will be played at Sutherlands Park\, Gay Street\, Huntingdale. \nNetball will be played at the Langford Netball Centre\, Langford Avenue\, Langford. \nThere will be two buses for the Carnival. The buses will be leaving at approximately 8:40am\, and both will return at 2:30pm. \nYour child needs to wear the school uniform\, not their faction shirt. They should also bring a drink\, a hat\, sunscreen\, suitable footwear\, lunch\, and morning recess. The Year 3 children run 900m\, the Year 4/5 children run 1400m\, and the Year 6 children run 1600m. \nThe children will be travelling by bus\, leaving from school at approximately 9:00am. \nAs the children are representing the school\, all children are required to wear the school interschool shirt\, which will be issued at the school\, and wear running shoes. Icecreams will be available from the school canteen at lunchtime. \n\nKindly\, Year 1-2 classrooms\, send lunch monitors to collect lunches from the canteen as per usual at 12:20 p.m.\nFrom the senior carnival\, faction captains and student councillors from each faction are selected to go to the canteen at 12:25 p.m. to collect pre-ordered lunches and bring them back to faction bays\, where teachers will distribute them.\n\nParents must sign out their Kindy to Year 2 students for lunch (sign-out sheet in Kindy to Year 2 classes)\, but they must be returned to class by 1pm so that the senior athletics programme can restart promptly. \nMessage from Mrs Horan\nOur school’s Athletics carnival is fast approaching and is to be held this Friday\, 17th October 2025. Please read the following messages for the children\, and I look forward to having your support on the day. \nMessages for children \nIf you colour your hair\, you must do it at home. Please do not bring sprays to school\, and also\, spike shoes cannot be worn. Please wear your faction shirt. Two water bottles are better than one whenever you come to school for a sporting event. \nPlease apply sunscreen at home for the juniors and at recess time for the seniors\, and reapply at lunchtime. At the time of this message\, Friday is going to be 28 degrees! \nAt the start of the day\, the Junior Primary will come down to the undercover area and the grass area to set up their factions. This needs to be done as soon as possible\, so be ready to come down when the siren sounds. I would like to start the first event by 9am. \nThe senior children are not allowed on the oval during recess time. When the siren goes at the end of recess\, go to your class and then come down to this area to line up in your factions\, ready for your marching. The carnival for you begins at approximately 11.30am. The march past will start as soon as the Junior Primary carnival is over. \nThe March past is also an opportunity to score points for your faction\, and the staff will be looking at faction shirts\, hats\, neat lines\, cheering\, and smiles. \nYou can eat lunch with your family. For Junior children\, your parent or caregiver must pick you up from your classroom. Lunch is at 12:30 pm – 1 pm. \nHave fun on the day\, show great sportsmanship\, and do your best.
