DESCRIPTION:The Year 1 students have the opportunity to go on an excursion to the Constable Care Safety School in Maylands. \nStudents will experience the Safety School as pedestrians and cyclists and will learn and practice road and public transport safety skills in a simulated experiential learning environment. \nThe students will visit the Safety School\, by bus\, on the following date: \n\nThursday 9th May 2024\n\nThe bus will be leaving school at 8.30am and students will return to school at approximately 1.15pm. \nThere will be no cost for the excursion as we were successful in gaining a grant by Your Move and the Department of Transport.What to bring  \nStudents and parent helpers need to bring the following in a small backpack: \n\nsnack for morning tea\nwater bottle\nsun protective hat\nenclosed shoes\nschool uniform (clothes for adult helpers) suitable for riding bikes\nlong hair tied low to allow for helmets to be worn\n\nPlease note – school bags and lunches need to be left at your child’s classroom at school. \nParent helpers –Each class will require the assistance of 3 parent helpers. You will get a free bus ride there and back to school and you will need to be prepared to be involved (even in bike riding)\, so come prepared!

DESCRIPTION:As part of our History (HASS) programme\, we have planned an excursion on Wednesday 17th April 2024 to the Fremantle Maritime and Fremantle Shipwrecks Museums.  The cost of the excursion will be $17.00. \nWe will be travelling by bus\, leaving the school at 9.00am and returning at approximately 2.45pm. \nAt the Museums the children will be involved in a variety of facilitated and self-guided experiences and will not be required to complete worksheets. \nAll children are expected to wear their school uniform including a hat and bring a packed recess and lunch\, with a drink\, in marked disposable containers. Please also provide a rain jacket if the weather is inclement. \nParent helpers will need to meet us at the Museum your child’s excursion is starting at but will need to walk to the other museum (650m). DESCRIPTION:Uniform Shop provides a complete range of new and second-hand clothing. The Uniform Shop is open from 8:15 am-9:15 am. \nBlock 5 (see school map -click on INFORMATION tab) \nPlease remember the uniform shop is voluntarily run by parents (from the P&C). Order forms can be obtained from the office or downloaded from the school website. Completed orders may be paid in the office and distributed to classrooms during each fortnight. Parents can also order online through Flexischool\, though the order needs to be placed by 5pm Wednesday for delivery on Thursday. There is no need for you to come in and collect online orders. \nSECONDHAND UNIFORMS\nVarious items and sizes are available for $2—$5 each. All proceeds go to the P & C. DESCRIPTION:Students will be representing the school at the Vale Sports Association Summer Carnival. \nYour child will be representing the school at the Vale Sports Association Summer Cup Carnival. It will be held on Tuesday 26th March\, 2024. \nThe venues are: \nBasketball – Willetton Basketball Centre (Burrendah Blvd Willetton) \nVolleyball WA – Canning Vale Volleyball Centre (Catalano Circuit\, Canning Vale) \nCricket – Burrendah Park\, Pinetree Gully Rd\, Willetton \nSofcrosse – Burrendah Park\, Pinetree Gully Rd\, Willetton \nFrisbee – Burrendah Park\, Pinetree Gully Rd\, Willetton \nThere will be three buses providing transport for the carnival. \n\nThe volleyball team will leave at 8:20am.\nThe two buses for basketball\, frisbee\, cricket and sof-crosse will be leaving Forest Crescent at approximately 8:20am\, and all will return before the end of the school day.\n\nYour child needs to wear the school uniform shorts/ skorts/skirts (no black shorts)\, bring a drink\, a hat\, sunscreen\, and suitable footwear\, as well as their lunch and morning recess. Students will be provided with an interschool shirt or singlet (Basketball). It is important your child is at school by 8:00am to get their shirt signed out. They will also need to be returned at the end of the day\, as they are not to go home with students.  Each family signing out shirts is responsible for their safe return or is required to cover the replacement costs of $40. Students are not permitted to use coloured zinc. \nAll venues plan to start by 9:20 am. There is a code of conduct for students and parents. SUMMARY:Harmony Day Lunch and Assembly 2024
DESCRIPTION:Each year we celebrate Harmony Day at Forest Crescent. I would like to thank Mrs Rodricks for coordinating our Harmony Day activities. With approximately 200 students from a language background other than English 35% it is an important week of celebration and recognition of our cultural diversity. This year’s theme “Everyone Belongs” is a great theme for Forest Crescent where\, as an inclusive school “Everyone Belongs”. \nHarmony Day is on Thursday\, 21st March 2024. Australia is proud to be culturally diverse and celebrates Harmony Day every year\, a day where people of all cultures come together and spread the message that ‘everyone belongs’. This year is the 24th time Harmony Day will be celebrated across Australia. Harmony Day is a day when we can wear orange or our cultural dress that says ‘together we will achieve great things’ and a day when we all show more than just respect for each other. It is a day for cultural recognition for all people who call Australia their home. \nSince the assembly will be in the afternoon\, parents are invited to enjoy lunch with their child/children and then spend time with them at lunch time till the assembly. Parents are requested to sign in at their child’s classroom if coming in for lunch. A special Harmony Day menu has been planned by the canteen and both students and parents can pre order their multicultural lunch offering. At 2:00pm\, we will assemble in the Undercover Area for the special assembly and whole school song. Thank you also to Ms Auld and Ms Britten who have been teaching the students the whole school harmony day song.
