Students must change back to their everyday footwear upon returning to school. Swimming goggles & caps are permitted; please ensure your child’s name is written on them. Students will take home their wet bathers and towel in their plastic bags.\nStudents ordering lunches from the canteen will be catered for\, but students may need to consider their departure & return time.\nChildren with long hair must have it tied back before swimming. It is not appropriate to wear jewellery or bring valuables to swimming lessons.\nAny children unsure of their swimming stage (for parents who marked “Unsure\, please grade”) will be assessed before allocation to a class. Parents will be sent a note from the head swim instructor if a stage change is necessary. Stages 1 to 15 are offered at pool centres. \nAny students who have attempted the same stage three times (in-term swim classes only) without passing need to tick the appropriate box on the stage form and attach copies of the last three certificates showing these attempts.\nParents of a child who has a severe medical problem (epilepsy or diabetes\, etc.) are encouraged to attend the swimming session when their child is swimming to assist in monitoring their child. These parents need to enter the pool through the front door of the pool complex when their child arrives at the pool. These parents are excluded from paying spectator fees but must make their way to the pool\, as space on the bus is at a premium. The swim centre requires a list of parents/guardians who are there for supervision. Please note in the section “Medical Details” if you can assist in monitoring your child’s health or notify Mr Combes so that arrangements can be made between the school and swimming centre.\nSupervision at the pool is shared between the pool and school staff. Misbehaving students will be entered into the daily swimming file for a follow-up meeting with the school’s deputies\, who will inform the child’s parents if necessary. If students continually pose a hazard to themselves or others\, they will be removed from swimming classes. Students removed from swimming for medical or behavioural reasons will only be able to receive a refund on pool entry costs (as transport costs are a shared cost).\nDue to concerns about swimming lessons in a public environment\, we have felt the need to be vigilant regarding access to change rooms. If your child needs the toilet at swimming lessons\, then these procedures will take place;\n\n\nStudents will ask their swimming instructor and then notify a teacher.\nThe teacher will supervise from outside the toilet/change-room area.\nWhen finished\, the student will inform the teacher and return to their swimming group.\n\n\nAfter swimming\, students will be given time to change at the Leisure World’s change rooms. The changing rooms will be supervised by FCPS staff.\n\nWhat Each Child Should Bring For Swimming \n\nCome to school with bathers under school uniform or in a named\, heavy-duty plastic bag. Remember your towel.\nSlip-on shoes or thongs to wear on the bus\, as shoes can be left at school (optional). Children cannot wear thongs all day at school and must have regular school shoes to change back into on return to school.\nPlease ensure ALL articles of clothing are marked with your child’s name to avoid confusion when children are changing. If your child has asthma\, please ensure they bring their Ventolin & spacer. These and all other medications will be held by the duty teacher for the duration of the class and then\, depending on the medication handed back to the children at the end of their swimming class or returned to the medical room.\n\nNon-Swimmers \nChildren who do not attend swimming lessons will be supervised by teaching staff back at school with a work package provided by the child’s teacher. Normal class programmes may be modified for the duration of the swimming program. \nPayment \n\nPayment of $56.00 is to be made no later than Monday\, 15th May 2023. SUMMARY:Year 5 Myalup Tree Planting
DESCRIPTION:Revised Myalup Tree Planting Excursion (changed 13th June)\nThe excursion to Myalup for Tree Planting has now been brought forward to Thursday\, 15th June\, instead of Friday\, 16th June\, due to a possible storm forecast in the region on Friday.\nWe will be required to depart school earlier than the normal time and will be returning later than the end of the school day. An outline of the itinerary is below. Half of the students will be tree planting on the dunes\, while the other half will be participating in coast care activities. After lunch\, the groups will switch.\n• 8.15 – bus leaves FCPS (must leave on time!)\n• 10.00 – bus arrives at Myalup Beach Carpark – Crunch and Sip. Welcome\, introductions\, explain the day and break into two groups.\n• 10.30–planting on dunes/coast care activity\n• 12.00 – Lunch at Myalup Beach Car Park or Myalup Community Hall\, depending on the weather.\n• 12.30 – planting on dunes/coast care activity\n• 2.30 – Leave Myalup\n• 4.00 – Arrive at FCPS\nRain and Clothing: There is shelter in the event of heavy rain at the Myalup Community Hall; however\, this is away from the dunes. With possible light rain forecasted\, students will need raincoats and a second pair of shoes and socks as the planting will go ahead. Please wear a normal school uniform shirt and bring an extra jumper to keep warm. Students can wear jeans or tracksuit pants if they wish.\nGloves: It is handy if your child can also bring a pair of gardening gloves.\nFood & Toilets: Students need to provide their own food for the day\, 2 x crunch and sip and lunch. Students should bring a full water bottle\, and there will be opportunities to refill them. Please pack food and the water bottle in a labelled plastic bag\, together with the second pair of shoes and socks if necessary. There are toilets at the Myalup Beach Car Park and the Myalup Community Hall. All students should go to the toilet before getting on the bus.
