Students, staff and parents enjoy a shared morning tea with friends. All gold coin donations raised are for the Cancer Council of WA and this event is part of our KidsMatter focus.
Dear Parents
This year the Forest Crescent community will again participate in the Cancer Council‘s Biggest Morning Tea. This event is being held to make all students aware of the importance of cancer research and the contribution our school community can make to further support this research.
When: Wednesday 23rd May at approximately 10:15am till 10.45am.
Where: On the lawn area adjacent to the assembly area (if raining will be held in the undercover area and adjacent verandah. A coffee van will be onsite from 10am-11am and parents are encouraged to join in with this community fundraiser for the Cancer Council.
Organisation:
All students will bring their own healthy morning tea and perhaps their water bottle.
They will sit out on the lawn area with their classmates and parents (if they wish to attend) and donate a gold coin to help support cancer research.
They are also to be encouraged to wear some yellow to signify cancer council research. (Not full free dress just a ribbon, bracelet, pair of socks, etc)
Each class will be given a yellow container on Wednesday to collect the donations before coming out.
The canteen will only be opened at the normal time so students are to be encouraged to bring along a special healthy morning tea from home. They will be able to buy from the canteen later if they prefer.
Parents are most welcome to attend if they wish but any hot beverages must be brought in a covered container. Alternatively, there will be a coffee van onsite for parents to purchase drinks.
Please be aware that our school encourages a nut free environment so no nuts in the morning teas please.
On behalf of the Kids Matter team thank you for your support with this endeavour.
