Harmony Day is on Friday, 21st March 2025. Australia is proud to be culturally diverse and celebrates Harmony Day every year, where people of all cultures come together and spread the message that ‘everyone belongs’. This year is the 26th time that Harmony Day will be celebrated across Australia. Harmony Day is a day when we can wear orange or our cultural dress that says, ‘Together we will achieve great things’ and a day when we all show more than just respect for each other. It is a day for cultural recognition for all people who call Australia home.
On Harmony Day, students can wear their National Costume or come dressed in orange to symbolise Harmony Day. This is not a Free Dress Day; only National Costume or orange should be worn. All other students are in school uniform as usual.
The canteen has opened on Flexischools for Harmony Day lunches. The canteen will NOT have regular orders available on Thursday, 20 March, only pre-orders. Regular menu items, as well as sushi, will be available. Parents, if you choose to order for yourself, please order under your child’s name.
ORDERS NEED TO BE IN BY SATURDAY EVENING, 15/3/2025
Parents are welcome to come and have lunch with their children (signing in at your child’s classroom) from 1.05 – 1.45 pm. Thank you to Mrs Rodricks for coordinating our Harmony Day activities, Ms. Britten and Ms Auld for teaching the whole school song and Mrs Kimwatan and her helpers in the canteen. The assembly will be held on the grass quadrangle adjacent to the undercover area from 2.00 pm – 2.50 pm. We educate students from many cultures, students with differing abilities, linguistic backgrounds and from various personal circumstances and family combinations
