R12 & 13 Kings Park

March 15, 2018

$18

To further enhance our classroom learning, our classes will be travelling by bus to the Rio Tinto Naturescape in Kings Park on Thursday, March 15 2018.

While in the Naturescape we will attend the Nyoongar Boodja learning program which explores the ways in which the country, animals and traditional ways of living change with the seasons. Children will take part in activities such as mia-mia (shelter) building, bush tucker, music, storytelling, dance, art and paddling in the shallow water at Paperbark Creek. Students will be placed in small groups of 5 and an adult will be with them at all times.

Children will need to wear their school uniform (preferably girls should wear shorts or skorts), a sun-safe hat, closed in “old” shoes and sunscreen. They will need to bring a water bottle, snack for recess and lunch in re-useable containers as there are no rubbish bins located close by. Please make sure that all of your child’s belongings have their name clearly marked and are packed securely in their school bag.  It would also be a great idea to pack a small towel.

The bus will leave the school grounds around 9:00am and return by 3:00pm. The total cost for the excursion is $18.00 which covers the bus fare and the education program at Kings Park.

You are more than welcome to join us on our excursion. We do need parent helpers for each class.
