All Year 6 students Rooms 5, 17 & 18.
We are fortunate to be able to participate in a tree planting project funded by the CoastWest, Shire of Harvey, PALS and supported by the Myalup Community Association at Myalup Beach, as well as participate an indigenous experience. This excursion is a ‘hands-on’ learning experience, where students will see the effects of wind erosion on coastal dunes, take part in a program to help revegetate and stabilise the dunes at Myalup, and learn about the indigenous culture of the area. Mr Bruce Ivers from Trees4Change will be coordinating the tree planting on behalf of the Shire of Harvey and Myalup Community Association, and Mr David Collard (depending on availability), or another local indigenous elder will be facilitating the Nyoongar Experience.
We will be required to depart school earlier than the normal time and be returning later than the end of the school day. An outline of the itinerary is below.
While half the students are tree planting on the dunes the others will be participating in the Nyoongar Experience activities.
