An excursion to Regional Resource Recover Centre, Bannister Road, Canning Vale has been arranged for year 3 students in Rooms 22 and 25 on Tuesday 17th October, 2017.
This excursion has been planned to supplement work being completed in your son’s/daughter’s classroom covering concepts in Science, HASS and Sustainability. A supervised tour through the Materials Recovery Facility, Green Waste Facility and Waste Composting Facility will be undertaken. While at the centre, students will learn how waste is being diverted from landfill, how materials can be recycled into new products and learn ‘Recycle Right’ messages to spread at school and at home.
The cost of the excursion is $7.50 per student which covers the bus fare. The tour of the centre is free.
Room 25 will depart from Forest Crescent Primary School at 9:05 am and return at 11:20 am. They will be having a short recess break upon returning to school.
Room 22 will depart from Forest Crescent Primary School at 11:20 am and return at 1:40 pm. They will be having a short lunch break upon returning to school. Canteen lunch orders will not be possible on this day.
All visitors to the site (adults and students) must wear closed in shoes. Students must be wearing full school uniform, including a sun-smart hat, and bring a labelled water bottle.
