Our faction cross country carnival was held last Friday 31 July and was one of our first opportunities to have parent spectators on school grounds. I would like to acknowledge the hard work of Mrs Horan and Ms Sandhu for their organisation and coordination of the carnival, our wonderful parent helpers and the Thornlie Senior High School Year 12 students for
their assistance. The carnival ran very smoothly and we had a number of outstanding performances. Individual winners and the winning team can be found below in the gallery and in our newsletter, however, I would like to highlight the number of students from across the year levels who participated in the cross country carnival and won faction points for their team.
All students displayed outstanding team spirit to compete over such a long distance and I congratulate them all.
Year 1 – 93% participation Year 2 – 93% participation
Year 3 – 90% participation Year 4 – 78% participation
Year 5 – 85% participation Year 6 – 76% participation.
Overall the participation rate was 86%, and with the recent number of absences due to the flu, this was a great effort. Good luck to all of the students who are representing FCPS on Thursday 20 August competing in the interschool cross country carnival at Homestead Park.
