After many months of practice, practice, practice, the Massed Choir Festival week finally arrived, and the Forest Crescent PS Choir were ready.

After attending the main rehearsal on Thursday, 16th September, at the Perth Concert Hall, the choir was tired but excited. A three-hour-long rehearsal for the concert would tire out the best of us, but the choir from Forest Crescent is made of sterner stuff!! We were praised by the conductor and members of the Massed Choir Festival committee for our excellent behaviour, beautiful singing and knowing the words! Ms Britten was very proud.

The concert was held on Saturday 18th September starting with a rehearsal at 5:30pm going until 7pm, before starting the performance at 7:30pm and concluding at 9pm-what a marathon! Nine other schools joined Forest Crescent, and 450 voices entertained us for an hour and a half.

Our very own Daniel J was chosen as a soloist and sang beautifully to “The Colour of Your Jumper”, a song about football, made famous by indigenous country music star Archie Roach.

Other songs performed by the massed choir included Crocodile Rock by Sir Elton John and Times Like These by Foo Fighters.

The children in the choir did such an excellent job and were so proud to be up on the stage at the Perth Concert Hall performing for their parents and special guests.

I guess all that practice paid off!
