It’s time once again to show our support for Foodbank WA, one of Forest Crescent’s annual initiatives and a key part of our sustainability programs. Many people find themselves needing help to access nutritious, affordable food due to unexpected challenges such as rising living costs, health issues, family separation, unforeseen bills, or job insecurity. Often, the assistance is temporary, helping families get through difficult times.

For years, Forest Crescent PS families have generously contributed by donating non-perishable food items.

These are collected in each class and collection by Foodbank on November 27th. Below are some of the most needed items:

  • Canned meals
  • Canned vegetables and fruit
  • Long-life milk
  • Canned soup and tuna
  • Tea and coffee
  • Pasta and rice
  • Baked beans
  • Pasta sauce
  • Oats and cereal
  • Gluten-free products
  • Spreads and jam
  • Household cleaning products
  • Meal bases
  • Nappies
  • Vegan-friendly items
  • Toilet paper

Please ensure all items are non-perishable and not past their expiration date. Thank you for your continued support!

HELLO, WE’RE FOODBANK WA

We believe everyone should have access to healthy food. There are Western Australians going without every day, and we are working hard to change that. We provide food and groceries to those who struggle to afford them. We deliver nutrition education to promote healthy eating and advocate on

behalf of people who experience food stress. Last financial year, we provided almost 7.8 million meals to Western Australians through our charity partners and schools. This is a staggering 1 million meals than the previous year. Sadly, we know that there is still an unmet gap of 30%.
In 2020, we assisted about 200 households a day. Some days, this is now over 800. Times are tough. There are many reasons why people struggle to afford enough food.
The need to support each other has never been this great. Many people are reaching out for help for the first time in their lives. Together, we can help get food to Western Australians who need it.
