Meet Our School Board

Andrew Holmes- Forest Crescent Primary School Principal

Andrew Holmes has been a Primary School Teacher with the department since 1988 and was promoted to his first Principal position in 1996. Since then his wife and four boys travelled around the country as he was promoted from Wubin with forty five students, Beverley District High School, Karratha and back to Perth where he has been Principal at Bungaree in Rockingham, Ardross and now happily at Forest Crescent Crescent Primary School.

Throughout his career, he has worked hard to ensure that the students under his care receive the best teaching and learning opportunities whether in the academic, sporting or social domains. He feels that it is important to develop the whole child through music, art and sport as well as literacy and numeracy. Outside of school, he is the Vice President of the Swan Districts Football Club, where he played league football back in the late 80s and early 90s! This keeps him busy, as well as watching his four boys pursue their sporting ambitions.

His wife Tracy is an elite women’s gymnastics judge and recently represented Australia judging at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. He looks forward to working with students, staff, parents and community members to ensure that Forest Crescent Primary School continues to provide outstanding learning opportunities for all of our students, where our vision of “Success for All” and “In Learning We Grow” is evident in our words and actions.

Tenille Nowell- Forest Crescent Primary School Staff Representative

Tenille Nowell has been a primary school teacher with the Department of Education since 2004 and at Forest Crescent Primary School since 2005, where she is currently a Senior Teacher in Year 3 and the Year 3 Level Coordinator. Over her 19 years at our school, she has taught many students as a classroom teacher, from year 2 to 5 and spent a few years specialising in science whilst coordinating the school science learning area. During this time, Tenille, with her husband, started a family and was fortunate to have her own two children complete their primary school at Forest Crescent. Here is a fun fact. Tenille was also a Forest Crescent student, making her relationship with our school span over 30 years, resulting in her being a FCPS student, parent and teacher. Tenille is an experienced, enthusiastic, and empathetic school staff member who enjoys collaborating with students, parents, and staff to ensure that her students are engaged, challenged, and equipped with the learning tools needed to reach their full potential.

Jessica Sandhu- Forest Crescent Primary School Staff Representative

I am currently the Deputy Principal of FCPS. I help with the management of Year 2, 5 and 6 at our school and am passionate about the Health & Wellbeing of students. I have been in education for over 30 years and have worked in both primary and secondary schools. On a personal note, I enjoy spending time with my dog, family and friends. I love watching basketball and have been a Perth Wildcats member for over 35 years. I also love spending time in nature, especially near the beach. I think someone would describe me as being a good listener, humorous at times and compassionate.

Verginia Serdev- Patterson- Forest Crescent Primary School Parent Representative

I am an in-house lawyer working in mining services who loves solving problems and bringing order to chaos. I am methodical, level-headed and practical, focusing on what matters. I am passionate about reading, gardening, and always learning new things. I have lived for extended periods on three continents, but call Australia home. My family are long-term Thornlie residents and I have been volunteering in the local community for many years, currently as mediator at the Red Gum Justice (previously the Gosnells Community Legal Centre) and as Deputy Chairperson of the Gosnells Women’s Collective Inc, which runs the Gosnells Women’s Shed.

Quality education is the foundation for a successful life lived well. I see my job on the board as helping to ensure that our school community stays amazing, and continues to provide our children with the caring environment they need to develop their academic and social skills to be the best versions of themselves.
