The cold chill of the morning didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of our 51 strong Interschool Cross Country team and their coach Mrs Spencer. The distances of the interschool cross country were Year 3’s covering 900m; Years 4’s to 5’s covering 1400m; Year 6’s covering 1600 metres.
Mrs Spencer walked the students around the course and compared to the previous years it wasn’t as muddy or wet. They discussed the strategy of how to run the course and after being sufficiently warmed up the students participated in their race.
Although off sick on occasions, Mrs Spencer has been busy coaching an hour-long running club on Mondays before school and on the extra Thursday in the lead-up to cross country.
