On Monday, Forest Crescent Primary School proudly participated in the Interschool Cross Country Carnival, competing against six other schools. The weather turned out to be ideal for us, creating perfect conditions for an exciting and enjoyable day.
Our students demonstrated outstanding effort, resilience, and sportsmanship throughout the carnival. There were many exceptional individual performances, with competitors pushing themselves to achieve personal bests and showing great determination from start to finish.
A highlight of the day was Forest Crescent securing the Year 4 and Year 5 Overall Trophies. This achievement reflects the dedication of our students and the support of our school community. In the overall standings, we placed second, narrowly missing first place in a very close finish. This result is a testament to the collective effort of all our competitors and a source of great pride for our school.
We extend a huge thank you to Rachael Spencer for her 7:45 a.m. morning training sessions leading up to the cross-country event, in conjunction with her Running Club morning shift commitments (ably supported by Kate Williams-Coomer) and for taking the students on a practice run through the cross-country course before the actual competition. Thanks also to Amanda Horan for her work during her physed classes in training and preparing our students for the carnival. Their commitment and expertise played a significant role in the success of our team on the day.
Congratulations to all participants for representing Forest Crescent Primary School.
Well done, Team FCPS!
