The Kindy Sustainability project is collecting for GOSAC in Term 4, Weeks 5 and 6. GOSAC (Give Our Strays a Chance) was an initiative started by Dean Morris as a PEAC project when he was 10 years old at Forest Crescent Primary School. GOSAC is still going strong. The Kindy has organised a collection drive for GOSAC, one of our Sustainability projects for the school. We are seeking donations of blankets, bedding, dog or cat food, toys, collars, and leashes to support the animals at GOSAC. Collection boxes are located in both the Kindy classes and one in the front office. Dean will collect at the Week 7 assembly.

The following excerpt is from Dean’s website.

My name is Dean Morris; I am 21 years old. I created GOSAC to help animals in need and the people who care for them. GOSAC is here to help strays, wildlife, and volunteers and educate youth and the public.

During the bushfire crisis, GOSAC collects and delivers surgical and medical supplies to wildlife animal rescues and provides and dispenses many tonnes of food for the animals returning to the fire grounds on location.

As we faced COVID-19 and the great floods, GOSAC has been helping struggling Australian households feed their pets, keeping families together.

GOSAC is working with homeless organisations throughout WA to make sure everyone can provide care for their pets.

I run talks at schools and libraries about animal welfare, leadership and how everyone, regardless of age, can change the world and make a difference.

Over the years, schools worldwide have contacted me to collaborate on improving leadership and animal advocacy education.

I want to think that I am changing the world.
