The Instrumental Music School Services is holding a series of band workshops for Year 5 and 6 students. The purpose of this excursion is to provide the opportunity for instrumental music students to engage musically with a wider range of peers and teachers, and to extend their playing experience beyond regular instrumental lessons.
Your child has been invited to participate in an IMSS Primary Band Workshop and will be working alongside beginner students from three feeder primary schools. This exciting event has been created to help support the musical development of young wind, brass and percussion students. Details are below:

ACTIVITIES AT THE WORKSHOP AND WHAT TO BRING
Students will need to be transported to Kelmscott Senior High School by their parents. Students don’t have to attend Forest Crescent Primary before going to the workshop. Students need to bring their instrument, music stand, pencil, hat, snack, water bottle, lunch, and any medication required (all items clearly labelled). Please note there will be no access to the school canteen. Students will be involved in sectional rehearsals and full band rehearsals. There will be an informal concert/presentation of the pieces in the final 15 minutes. Parents are welcome to come back early and watch at 2:00pm. PERMISSION FORMS
Please fill out the attached Permission and Student Health Forms online. Please complete the MEDIA Consent form as well (CLICK HERE). A paper copy has been attached. Your child’s IMSS teacher will be pleased to answer any questions about the workshop. These forms are not to be returned to the school. They get handed in on the day of the band workshop.

Qualified instrumental teachers from the Instrumental Music School Services supervise these workshops.
STAFF ACTION IN CASE OF ACCIDENT OR ILLNESS AT THE INCURSION
In the event of an emergency, IMSS staff will ensure the safety of all students and contact all parents using the parent contact and emergency contact details on the excursion permission forms submitted.
