The Order of Events for 2020

This evening we joined the students in celebrating the end of their school year for 2020, along with recognising individual performance through class book awards.

Book awards were presented to students who have displayed the following qualities throughout the year;

  • Positive attitude towards school
  • Citizenship qualities in the classroom
  • Commitment to learning

We also had two BeYou awards this year, which recognises a junior and senior primary student who has displayed kindness and empathy within the school community.

Mrs Lambert, our librarian, had spent a lot of her time making sure that teachers got their book awards in by the due date and also for creating the bookplates that go inside every book presented tonight.

Photos of all the award recipients taken tonight will have the image emailed to the family email address that is on our current newsletter database.

The Forest Crescent PS school band performed for us, but I don’t think we were anticipating the gusting winds which caused music sheets to go flying. The Year 5 & 6 guitar ensemble performed for us. This was followed by a thank you drum solo performance by Sofia P, our Forest Crescent band drummer since 2018, and grand-final winner of Forest Crescent’s Got Talent from 2018 & 2019.

From that point on, our presentation night was co-hosted by our Year 6 Head Boy, Omar, and Year 6 Head Girl, Ella.

The choir, led by Ms Britten performed our opening songs “All Swans Are White”, with soloist Molly H, and “All For Love”.

Forest Crescent Primary’s Head Boy Omar, and Head Girl, Ella presided over the evening program, and introduced the year level items;

  • Pre-Primary classes performed their item, “I Am the Happiest Christmas Tree”.
  • Year Ones from Rooms 6, 7, 8 and 9, performed their item “Christmas Time”, to the tune of “Shake It Off”, with words by Ms Britten.
  • Year Two’s from Rooms 10, 11, 12 and 13 sang. “Nice List”.
  • Year Three’s from Rooms 22, 24 and 25 performed “Santa Claus”, to the tune of “Savage Love”, with words by Ms Britten.

Forest Crescent Primary School presented two awards this year, which recognised a junior and senior primary student who has displayed kindness and empathy within the school community; recognising the values of the school’s BeYou program. This was sponsored by the Gosnells Lion Club and was presented by Mrs Kath Beech, President Gosnells Lion Club. The recipients were Abby L (Junior Primary) and Kevin O (Senior Primary)

We also incorporate one of the Year Six Graduation Awards in the FCPS Presentation Night program.  This award, the Marie Wooton Citizenship Award, is also listed in the graduation post and was presented by Mr Peter Abetz, City of Gosnells Deputy Mayor. The recipient of this award was Ava V.

Finally, the night came to a close with the community and students, along with the Forest Crescent Student Choir, performing our closing song “Go Santa Go” to the tune of “Dance Monkey”, with words by Ms Britten.

From all reports, everybody enjoyed themselves and finally a thank you to all those parents and children who stayed behind to help pack away. Your support was most appreciated.
