Did you know that red stars are the coolest and blue stars are the hottest?
On Thursday, September 5th, children from years three and five and their families were treated to a guided tour of the night sky by Ric Tonello from Astronomy Education Services.
Ric gave a fact-filled presentation dazzling us with unimaginable numbers, and then led us out to the oval to where four huge telescopes stood waiting for us to use. Through the telescopes, we had fantastic views of the moon, Jupiter, Saturn and the Jewel Box Cluster (of stars). Ric took photos on our mobiles phones so we have a memento of a wonderful, educational evening.
Thanks to Ms Deb Micallef (Year 3 & Science Club teacher) for organising this wonderful event.
