The Book Character Parade took place on Wednesday 26th August starting at 9.00 am on the oval. Kindy 1B and 2B had a book character parade in the Kindy area at 12.30pm on Wednesday as they attend the afternoon session.
It is so important that we take every opportunity to celebrate the reading of books. This year’s theme was Curious Minds, Wild Creatures and the students and staff came dressed up to celebrate their love of reading!
Due to COVID restrictions, the parade was held on the oval, commencing at 9.00am. All students assembled in front of the stage, where their class photo was taken in a boat restored by Mrs Virgin’s family, alongside creatures from “Where The Wild Things Are”, drawn and painted by Mrs Sue Ruane and Mrs Jo Portman, before embarking on a parade route that was marked around the oval.
Students were encouraged to bring in the book which inspired them to come dressed up and bring it along to the parade.
Thanks to Mrs Garic and the English Committee for coordinating the Book Week Parade and Great Book Swap, as well as being flexible to accommodate changing the venue to ensure the health and safety of our school community.
