Mrs Ashraf Parkar commenced work at FCPS in 1996 after relocating to Perth from the small country town of Marvel Loch.

Over 28 years as an Education Assistant, Ashraf worked with 72 teachers. It is a testament to her character that she had the ability to work with every teacher and adapt to their different teaching styles.

Ashraf worked in Kindy and Pre-Primary with Ms Deb Sheehan for many years and also with so many other teachers at Forest Crescent Primary.

Ashraf has always been a very giving person. At the end of Ramadan, each year, there would be chocolate for all staff in their pigeon holes, and she would periodically provide a cooked lunch for all Pre Primary and Kindy staff.

Ashraf has also been very generous in spirit, regularly volunteering in the wider community.

Over many years Ashraf has donated a Values award for the Year 6 Graduation in memory of her parents, Professor and Mrs Dardarkar.

Ashraf now provides an additional Values Award: In respectful and loving memory of her beloved Iqbal, who passed away unexpectedly in 2020. Iqbal was a frequent visitor at FCPS as he was Ashraf’s Taxi ride. We were fortunate to have Farha, Ashraf’s daughter-in-law, work at FCPS in 2018/2019 before securing a position at Harrisdale PS.

Ashraf continued her generosity by providing lunch for all staff at her retirement function and donating considerable funds to purchase ECE resources for Kindy and Pre-Primary and Books for Library – a lasting legacy for the students of FCPS.

Ashraf’s donations were used to purchase a train named the Parkar Express, with the children enthusiastically playing on the train and ringing the bell every recess and lunchtime. The wooden tepee and a water wall for Kindy have also been a hit. The three cubby houses for the Pre-Primary students have created a sense of community in the Pre-Primary play area, which is appropriately named “Parkarville.”
