Forest Crescent PS Visual Arts Program
Forest Crescent Primary School has a vibrant Visual Art program that offers students a range of opportunities to enhance their creativity and artistic skills. This program encourages creative and imaginative thinking.
Specialist Art teachers Mrs Jo Portman and Mr Robert Stevrenson engage all students for approximately one hour of specialist art per week. Students experience a range of visual art activities, including painting, ceramics, collage, and drawing.
Forest Crescent Primary School offers a Talented and Gifted Visual Art course (TAGS) for selected students from Years Four, Five, and Six. These students enjoy an extra hour of art a week, where they are extended and further artistically stimulated with opportunities they may not receive in their classroom art lessons.
At times, special art projects are undertaken to decorate and enhance the school grounds. These projects allow for more intensive tuition and extension and instil ownership and pride in our school. The students also enjoy participating in various community-based projects, competitions, and exhibitions.
Visual Arts have the capacity to engage and inspire students, encouraging them to reach their creative and intellectual potential by stimulating imaginative and innovative thinking.
