The following arrangements are in place for in-term swimming lessons for Year 4-6 students.
Week 7 & 8 (MONDAY 31st August to FRIDAY 11th September) at Gosnells Leisure World- new scheduling.
In-term swimming lessons for Year 4-6 students are integral to the Department of Education’s Physical Education Program. The Department of Education covers the costs of swimming tuition, and parents only pay for pool entry and bus transport.
Parents should also be aware that many high schools offer electives that require a level of swimming proficiency to participate. In primary school, in-term swimming classes allow students to advance their swimming skills.
During this time, when we are very conscious of the cost of living expenses for families, the school has rescheduled the Years 4 to 6 swimming program. Instead of students receiving two weeks of swimming, one 40-minute session per day, with 10 sessions in total, we will have one group of students (two classes) receiving one week of swimming, one 80-minute session per day, with 5 sessions in total. A break can be provided for the students at the end of the first 40 minutes if required. So for Week 7, two groups (including four classrooms in total) will attend one week of swimming, and in Week 8, two groups (including four classrooms in total) will attend one week of swimming.
