Earlier this year, as part of the Your Move Super Boost Program, Forest Crescent Primary School successfully applied for a Bike Education Package, which includes a three-week cycling education program. We are very fortunate to have been selected as one of only a small number of schools to receive this program free of charge this term.
The program will be delivered by accredited instructors from AusBike and forms part of the Health Curriculum. Please see parent information attached.
Program Schedule
Bike Education Sessions: Fridays (Weeks 6-9)
- 28 August,
- 4 September,
- 11 September,
- 18 September
Each Year 3 class will participate in 4 x 1-hour practical sessions during this period.
Important Information
- Students are required to bring their bike and helmet to school on the dates of the program.
- A limited number of bikes and helmets are available for free loan for students who do not have access to their own equipment (10 bikes available).
- The program caters for all skill levels, including students who have never ridden a bike before.
- All sessions will take place within the school grounds, on the basketball courts (Year 4).
- As Bike Education is part of the Health Curriculum, all students are expected to participate. As the sessions are practical in nature, every student will require access to a bicycle.
