On Thursday, 21 May, Forest Crescent Primary School proudly participated in its very first AFLW Carnival in Willetton. Ms Horan took a team of 21 enthusiastic girls, many of whom had never played football before. Throughout the term, the students showed incredible commitment by attending lunchtime training sessions and developing their skills together as a team.
The girls arrived at the carnival feeling excited and a little nervous, but quickly embraced the experience with enthusiasm and determination. Over the course of the day, Forest Crescent played six games before progressing to two highly competitive finals.
The team achieved an outstanding result, finishing 3rd out of 9 schools — a fantastic accomplishment for their first AFLW carnival appearance.
Most importantly, the day was filled with fun, teamwork, new friendships, and memorable experiences that the students will cherish for years to come. Forest Crescent is incredibly proud of the girls for their positive attitude, sportsmanship, resilience, and willingness to challenge themselves throughout the day.
A big congratulations to all players and a special thank you to Ms Horan for her dedication and support in preparing the team for such a successful event.
